Welcome to the website of

producer, mixer, engineer

John Paterno

Hello and welcome to my website.  Please check back from time to time to see what  I've been up to. Here's a little background about me:

I'm an east coast native who attended the University of Miami from '87-'90.  The music school there has a degree program in Music Engineering, which combined music classes with classes in recording theory, electronics, acoustics, and physics, among others.  I moved to Los Angeles in May of '90 to pursue a job at a recording studio, and I've been steadily making my way ever since.  For various reasons, my first year was spent as a freelance assistant until I was asked to become a member of the Sunset Sound/Sound Factory staff in the summer of '91.  I spent about five years there as an assistant, working on a variety of projects at both facilities, but ended up primarlily at Sound Factory working with Tchad Blake and Mitchell Froom as my main clients.

I eventually decided I needed to move on, and have been a freelance producer, mixer, and engineer ever since.  Please refer to the discography page and the links below to find out more about who I've worked with and what I am all about.

thanks for checking out the site !!
